Safran Electronics Canada is an engineering company with focus on design and manufacture of safety critical, real time electronic controllers and health monitors for commercial, business and military aircraft. Our computers control movement of aircraft landing gear, de-icing of propellers and performance of jet as well as turboshaft and turboprop engines.

As a rule, we manufacture what we design and design what we manufacture. To that end, our engineering department comprises many engineering disciplines. Hardware, software as well as mechanical design and manufacturing process engineering. To satisfy the tough safety requirements guiding the aviation industry, our product undergoes extensive certification testing. It must operate flawlessly under adverse environmental conditions, such as temperature extremes, high altitude, heavy vibration, strong electromagnetic interference and lightning strike. Our laboratories are equipped to create these adverse conditions not only to verify the design but also to test each and every manufactured unit before it is shipped to the customer.

Because components can fail due to stress, manufacturing defect or damage, our equipment is at a minimum dual redundant. Should one part of the system fail, another one takes over to complete the flight safely. Engineering specialists see to it that no part is overstressed and that the system architecture does provide the necessary level of safety.

Safran Electronics Canada is AS9100 certified to assure the highest quality of work. In manufacturing the surface mount technology (SMT) is used with sophisticated equipment to automate the assembly and inspection. Automatic testers and product stress screening guarantee that air travel remains the safest mode of transportation.
